The hotel features fine original paintings on the
Ceiling that add to its historical charm. The spacious Superior Double room was pristine and comfortable. A fantastic stay just steps from the heart of Catania's hustle.

Our room had a beautiful and original 17th century hand-painted ceiling and was very spacious. The hotel is very well located close to the old city centre of Catania and is in a quite street.

It was located in a bad area, very hard to find. The room was old and had an odor to it and was not good for someone with a family

The hotel is in an excellent position and the room we had was very comfortable. And the service wes good.
We had one main problem with the hotel and that is the the fire exits were not fully functioning. Patrons should feel fully safe in a hotel, but we did not. We assume this problme will be sorted out once the hotel is fully renovated.

The rooms were lovely and comfortable. One of the rooms had a painted ceiling which was beautiful. Rooms were tidied every day with plenty of clean towels and soap available etc. The breakfast was good with as much as you wanted. Finally, we got a proper cup of tea which we made the most of every morning as we knew it would be the only one of the day. The staff were courteous and the hotel was quite luxurious.
It would have been so much better to have tea making facilities in the room as we always had to go out for even a basic drink. The outside was very shabby in what looked like a very shabby square. It was such a relief to see how nice it was inside. We were pounced on by two enterprising men (not related to the hotel) to pay extortionate rates to park our cars outside and bullied into paying it. The breakfasts although nice were a bit boring after 3 days of no other choice and being a vegetarian I did tire of cheese rolls and did not fancy a slice of cake for breakfast. On a Saturday evening, the car papping outside the window and people shouting and music booming from cars went on until 2am and I had to sleep with a pillow over my head and the wooden shutters closed to drown the noise but this was only on the Saturday night.

Very nice location just a short walk to all main attractions. The charming rooftop terrace offered fine views, especially during breakfast. Breakfast boasted a good selection, including fabulous handmade cakes by Stefania. My room featured a beautiful ceiling that added to its historical ambiance and was spacious enough for relaxation. The corridor carpet needed attention as it appeared dirty, detracting from the hotel's overall charm. Parking was another challenge. It seemed limited without clear guidance from the staff. Despite these issues, the friendly and accommodating service were great. I appreciated the cleanliness standards and the helpful recommendations from the staff.

The location is perfect. The staff is quite friendly. The amazing design of the ceiling.
The old building ( of course, it was a palace) means that there would be the smell of old things. the hotel is for those who likes antique interiors. There were cockroaches in the bathroom, and there were no hot water in the shower. The sanitary is also old, not very clean.

The hotel is located near the center of the town (Piazza Duomo) and has an impressive architecture. The bourgeois design of the rooms with old style furniture and with manually painted ceiling makes you feel living in the past. The rooms are clean and quiet.
From the exterior the hotel looks like an abandoned building and makes you think twice if it is a good idea to enter or not.
